Fabrication Data Manager is the new cloud-based offering that enables database management in the cloud. Built on the Autodesk Platform Services platform (formerly Forge), the new UI facilitates intuitive visual management for collaboration and consumption in both Revit software and Fabrication authoring products.

Digital twins can serve as a shadow representation of your assets—be it a building information modeling (BIM) corpus, CAD models of a facility, the equipment instruction manuals, or the interconnect between the systems. Adding sensors to these shadow representations allows for real-time tracking, evaluation, and prediction of facility and asset performance. In this presentation, we will introduce you to our digital twin platform called Autodesk Tandem and its new API. Following that, we will guide you through the process of developing your first digital twin, using the Autodesk Tandem APIs. By the end of the session, you'll know how to make your own digital twin and integrate the Autodesk Tandem API with your own systems and data. We'll wrap up with examples of more-advanced real-world use-cases that involve IoT sensors and time-series databases.

This integration embeds our files into vectors, forming the foundation for a Q&A system. This groundbreaking approach signifies a knowledge revolution, ensuring seamless knowledge transfer and accessibility, regardless of workforce dynamics.

General Motors (GM) has invested $1 billion into building new battery plants, and to do this, the firm asked Barton Malow (general contractor) and Ghafari (architecture engineering firm) to partner together to deliver this massive undertaking. GM knew that traditional construction methods would not meet the timeline and demands of the project, so the firm opted for an integrated project delivery (IPD) method to deliver a project on such a large scale. This sharing session will touch upon PennDOT's (Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's) innovative initiatives with augmented reality, drone data capture for both design and construction, and its Project Delivery Collaboration Center solution. We currently have multiple pilot projects underway and would like to share our lessons learned and how we plan to tie them all together with a single platform. Autodesk Data Exchange is a new service that facilitates interoperability between Autodesk and non-Autodesk products, helping you to unlock your data and share the right data with the right stakeholders at the right time. The powerful API allows you to access the granular data in exchanges and integrate the Autodesk Data Exchange service into your pipeline and use it as a data exchange stack. In this class, we will briefly look at the client-side workflow of Autodesk Data Exchange, and then we'll look at the tools made available to developers to help them tap into that workflow. The tools made available by the Autodesk Data Exchange team vary based on complexity, allowing you to either just access the granular data in exchanges, or go beyond that and build your own connectors that will allow custom workflows to read and write data into exchange context.

During this session, we'll go over the process involved in achieving a Digital Twin. We'll explore what it is (as it could be different things depending on what you need), we will examine the uses and benefits, we will go over the technology involved and analyze the steps to get into the Digital Twins world.

VRED software is a renowned tool for automotive renderings and for virtual reality (VR) collaboration to review vehicle designs. Besides its popularity in automotive design, other industries such as manufacturing and engineering have been exploring VRED software's capabilities to showcase products, visualize workspaces, and test assemblies in 3D space. New to VRED 2023.3 is the ability to import metadata from CAD assemblies. Understanding how this extra data flows from one app to another may allow new ways for teams to communicate. This may include keeping track of dates throughout the project lifecycle and categorizing data for easier selection. Visualization designers can collaborate by sharing scene notes, transfer Microsoft Excel data into metadata tags, and convert physical texture sizes. They can work more efficiently, leaving scenegraph nodes unchanged and accessing metadata sets to make geometry and materials visible. Use cases for greater productivity along the digital thread connecting users are limitless.

This session will explore how Hazen and Sawyer pilot tested Autodesk Tandem software with Aurora Water in Colorado throughout the last year. Aurora Water's goal was to convert a portion of an existing facility from 2D record drawings to an asset-rich 3D model in Autodesk Tandem. Aurora Water also wanted QR codes/RFID tags placed on the assets in the facility to allow operations and maintenance staff to access various electronic information about the assets while on site. Autodesk Tandem would contain the 3D model with asset information, links to O&M manuals, and links to information contained in QR codes/RFID tags.

We made a digital twin (DT) of the tunnels that we manage on behalf of the province of North Holland. We're responsible for operating, controlling, and monitoring those tunnels. The data of the tunnels in the DT make the management and maintenance process much easier. Through its application, the DT is a central database in which we as tunnel administrator—along with the subcontractors and our client—can work directly. Accordingly, we all have up-to-date information about the status of the asset. As an administrator, we know the status of reliability, availability, and safety at all times. The contractor can immediately assess the severity and nature of defects and immediately has insight into the required material for carrying out the maintenance. Based on current information, the owner can make strategic decisions. An extensive effort was necessary regarding the original working method. With the DT, the process steps were reduced by almost 50%.

The architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry generates a significant amount of data that helps in making informed data-based decisions and speeding up projects delivery. However, information derived from the data is only as good as its quality and may pose high risk to all stakeholders if not validated diligently. In this class, we will explore different methods of data validation, including 1) a reactive approach based on stakeholder feedback and observed poor performance signs, 2) a proactive approach involving the use of various data export and visualization methods to access data quality, and 3) innovative automated real-time validation techniques using custom tools and event-driven programming to ensure data consistency and prevent invalid entries.
